On this occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off vehicles related to solid waste management. A total of 244 new vehicles were dedicated to the state for solid waste management in urban bodies.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that these schemes will bring concrete improvements in the areas of health, sanitation and housing in urban areas, benefiting common citizens directly.

The Chief Minister said that these schemes will expand health services in the state’s urban bodies, provide housing to the urban poor, organize street vendors and link them to livelihoods, and bring major changes in the areas of sanitation and solid waste management. He expressed confidence that these initiatives would make the urban bodies of Uttarakhand a model for the country and ensure excellent performance in the Swachhata Survekshan. He stated that all these new initiatives would not only help make the urban areas of the state cleaner, more beautiful and healthier, but would also play an important role in improving citizens’ quality of life.

The Chief Minister said that through the Swachh Bharat Mission, a new culture of cleanliness has been developed today in thousands of cities, towns and urban areas across the country. Through the AMRUT Yojana, urban infrastructure such as water supply, sewerage and green spaces have been strengthened. The Smart City Mission is an attempt to present a model of ideal urban development by integrating technology and citizen facilities. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, lakhs of poor families have received their own permanent houses.

The Chief Minister said that under the guidance and cooperation of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the state government is also continuously striving to give a new direction to the development of Uttarakhand. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, solid waste management and cleaning systems are being strengthened in every urban area. Today, the benefits of various welfare schemes such as the Smart City Mission, PM Svanidhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and AMRUT Mission are being extended to every citizen of Uttarakhand.

On the issue of youth

CM Dhami – “For the interests of youth, I can bow my head and even sacrifice myself”

CM Dhami clarified that as soon as information about a recent cheating case was received, the government immediately took action, arrested the accused and constituted an SIT to investigate the entire examination. However, the opposition tried to use this issue as a shield to cook their political bread and attempted to spread unrest in the state. Those who have always questioned CBI and ED investigations for their political interests were now using the youth to demand a CBI probe in this matter for their own political gain.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that seeing the troubles of our children and to foil the conspiracy of disruptive elements, he personally met the youth and assured them that along with initiating a CBI investigation, all their legitimate demands would be fulfilled.

The Chief Minister said that to make recruitment processes transparent and to curb cheating mafias, the country’s strictest anti-cheating law has been implemented. As a result, in the past 4 years, more than 25,000 youth have received government jobs in the state, which in itself is a record. After the implementation of this law, more than 100 cheating mafias have been sent behind bars in the past 4 years, who had turned cheating into an industry during the previous governments. All these steps have been taken by the government only to secure the future and interests of the youth.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that some people are even saying that we have bowed before the youth or those demanding a CBI probe. “I want to make it clear to all such people that for the protection of the interests of youth, I can bow my head and even sacrifice myself.”

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Shri Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Naresh Bansal, MLAs Shri Umesh Sharma, Smt. Savita Kapoor, Mayor of Dehradun Shri Saurabh Thapliyal, along with mayors of various urban bodies, Secretary Shri Nitesh Kumar Jha, officers of the Urban Development Department and Municipal Corporations were present.
