“Rozgar Mission” to be launched to generate 12-15 lakh new employment opportunities in Chhattisgarh

Coordination between Godhan Nyay Mission, Tea-Coffee Board, Fishery, Lac Production, Rural Industrial Park, Millet Mission, Plantation and other employment oriented activities to be established
New Delhi 15 January 2022/ With an aim to generate 12 to 15 lakh new employment opportunities in next five years, State Government has decided to constitute Chhattisgarh Employment Mission under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain will be the Deputy Chairman of this mission while Principal Secretary Mr. Alok Shukla will be the CEO. Managing Director of Minor Forest Produce Association and various senior officials will be the members of this mission.
In the last three years, many innovative programs have been launched in the state with the objective of promoting employment in every district here. These innovations have created a large number of permanent employment opportunities and have improved people’s income and standard of living. Along with the initiatives of Chhattisgarh Herbals, there is an immense scope of creating new employment opportunities through effective implementation of the programs such as Godhan Nyay Mission, Tea-Coffee Board, giving the status of agriculture to fisheries and lac production, establishment of rural industrial park, and initiatives such as millet mission and commercial plantation. Under the mission, coordination will be established between all the aforementioned new programmes and the skill development programmes conducted in urban and rural areas. Moreover, expertise of institutions such as IIT, IIIT, IIM, NIT will be taken to create new opportunities.
Director Industries, Director Technical Education, Employment and Training, Director Fisheries, Managing Director Village Industries, Hand Crafts Development Board, Khadi Board, Managing Director State Rural Livelihood Mission, Chief Executive Officer Godhan Nyay Mission will be the other members of the mission. State Government has directed Chief Executive Officer of the mission, Mr. Alok Shukla to prepare and submit an action plan regarding the mission within a month.
