Punjab Deserves Audited Facts, Not Political Rhetoric: R.P. Singh
➖AAP MP Exposes Massive Sand Mining Scam in Punjab: BJP Demands Time-Bound CBI Probe
➖ ₹20,000 Crore Promise vs ₹288 Crore Reality — Where Did the Money Go, Asks BJP
New Delhi February 24
“AAP’s own Member of Parliament Kang Malvinder has blown the lid off the illegal sand mining racket flourishing under the Bhagwant Mann–Arvind Kejriwal government in Punjab. When a sitting MP from their own party raises serious questions, it is no longer an allegation by the Opposition — it becomes an internal indictment,” said R.P. Singh, National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Quoting official data, R.P. Singh stated that the average annual sand mining revenue in Punjab stands at approximately ₹288 crore, whereas the Aam Aadmi Party had promised before the elections that the state would generate ₹20,000 crore annually from sand mining. “This is not a minor discrepancy. This is a staggering gap of thousands of crores every single year. The numbers simply do not add up,” he said.
He further remarked that Arvind Kejriwal, being a former IRS officer, cannot claim ignorance about financial projections and revenue estimates. “These were not emotional slogans shouted at rallies. These figures were presented as precise financial assurances to the people of Punjab. So the unavoidable question is — where did the promised ₹20,000 crore go?” he asked.
R.P. Singh emphasized that over four years, the shortfall runs into tens of thousands of crores. “Was this massive gap the result of systemic corruption and illegal mining operating under political protection? Punjab deserves a transparent explanation,” he asserted.
“Punjab is not asking for rhetoric. Punjab is not asking for excuses. Punjab is asking for audited facts,” he said, demanding accountability from the state leadership.
The BJP has demanded a time-bound Central Bureau of Investigation probe into sand mining revenues, mining leases and contractors, beneficiaries involved, and any political–bureaucratic nexus that may have facilitated irregularities.
“Until a CBI investigation is ordered, AAP’s claims of ‘honest governance’ stand completely exposed. The people of Punjab deserve clear answers, and Arvind Kejriwal along with Bhagwant Mann must respond without delay,” R.P. Singh concluded.
